George Lashevsky
The paintings of Moldavian painter Yuri Laschevsky can be related to the romantic style. He was born in 1965. He graduated from the art and graphic faculty in 1991. At the same time, Yuri attended the courses of Analytical painting. In his creations, the painter touches on the mystical side of our life. His paintings are as though covered with mysterious shroud through which everyone can see something proper.
Yuri Laschevsky is a permanent participator at local, national and international exhibitions; many of them are dedicated to his creations. The documentary "The Name of Love" reflecting the life and work of this artist was granted the first prize in Canada in 1998.
His paintings are exhibited in the museums and galleries of Romania, Russia, Italy, Belgium, Israel, Egypt, USA, etc.; many of them are constantly acquired by private collectors all over the world.
At the moment, the artist has a permanent personal exhibition in Chisinau at the art showroom "Artemida" situated at the following address: 2 Moskova bld., Chisinau, Republic of Moldova
The analytical painting "All the images of the world" consists of a majority of small, independent details and forms created by the author with the use of a special texture of different materials (stone, cloth, glass, metal) that step by step fill in each other, blending and making a structural composition that is changing from the edges of the painting to the center (getting from little forms to the bigger ones, from the light to the dark, from cold to warm). The basic principle of this free form creating is the principle of total completion, i.e. every centimeter of this painting can be redone until it suits the author completely. The time spent on the work over a painting 70x70 cm is about 150-200 working hours. If considering the analytical painting from the point of view of elements, it reminds ice-hummocks lightened with colored light, i.e. it belongs to water elements. The author has been wondering why not to unite several elements together: expressionism - the wind, realism - the Earth, suprematism - the fire. Speaking about symbolyzing paintings, we can mention:
"Fire elements" where is the hearts sign (a turned over flame catch), the neutralizing element is the Moon and the symbols of fire - Sagittarian, Aries and Leo are executed with suprematic forms.
"Water elements" - the uniting element is the sign of the cross - H2O - analytical - Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces and the background typical for the expressionism.
Basically, this principle is used almost in every painting in different proportions though on clients' wish some paintings can be made in pure styles.
